Watkins Glen planning board 2/16/11

Meeting:  The Watkins Glen planning board met Wednesday, Feb. 16, for one hour.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were three people in the audience.
Action:  The planning board approved a preliminary site plan for the construction of a carport at 123 Second St.  A public hearing was set for Wednesday, March 16.
Discussion without action:  Board President Joseph Fazzary said the group discussed the village’s comprehensive plan.  He explained the board is waiting to get the latest Census data to continue, but that won’t be available until April 1.  Fazzary said an intern from Cornell University will handle the data.  Fazzary added he reviewed another village’s comprehensive plan because it had an organizational structure similar to what Watkins is planning.
• Code Enforcement Officer Gordon Wright updated the board on current projects in the village.  He said he had preliminary plans for the MaGee Point Landing project, but couldn’t print them out for the board members.
Appointments/resignations:  The board accepted a resignation from board member Amedio Fraboni.  Fazzary explained if planning board member Kevin Smith is elected to the village board they would also need to appoint a replacement for him as well.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular Watkins Glen planning board meeting is Wednesday, March 16, at 7 p.m.
