Watkins police release festival traffic patterns

WATKINS GLEN--The annual Grand Prix Vintage Car Festival will be held Friday, Sept. 5 and the following traffic pattern will be in effect for the day. There will be no parking along Franklin Street from Second Street to 11th Street from noon until 9 p.m. State Route 14 (Franklin Street) will start closing at 12:45 p.m. and will be closed to all traffic at 1 p.m. No parking will be in effect in the following locations on the day of the festival from noon until 9 p.m. Residents who live in these locations are asked to find alternative parking:
• West Fourth Street on both sides of the street.
• East Fourth Street on the south side of the street from Franklin to Porter Street.
• 15th Street on both sides of the street.
• 11th Street on both sides of the street.
• First Street on both sides of the street.
• Decatur Street from First Street to 15th Street on both sides of the street.
• Perry Street from Third Street to 10th Street on the west side of the street. South Monroe Street, South Jackson Street and South Madison Avenue will close to thru traffic during the festival. Residents residing on these streets must enter and exit by way of Steuben Street. Traffic delays are likely during the festival.
