WATKINS GLEN—Watkins' varsity softball team fell to Waverly, 18-2, Friday, May 4.
Coach Jim Scott said Waverly had 12 runs in the first inning alone. He added that the Senecas just couldn't recover. The game ended under the "mercy rule" where one team has at least a 15 point lead after five innings.
Hits for Watkins came from Taylor Hughey and Taylor Chaffee, who were both 1-for-2 and each with a run. Mikayla Elliott was 1-for-2, while Brittany Kelly was 1-for-1.
