Watkins swimmers lose, 91-88

WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen boys varsity swim team fell to Waverly in a home meet, 91-88, Thursday, Jan. 8.
The 200 yard medley relay team (Matt Doppel, Lucas Wickham, Liam Fitch,and Aidan DeBolt) were first (1:50.47). The 400 freestyle relay team (Aaron Planty, Fitch, DeBolt, and Doppel) won the top spot with 3:42.74. The 200 freestyle relay team (Wickham, Jacob Slater, Planty, and Sean Holland) took second in 1:49.92.
DeBolt was also first in the 200 freestyle (2:00.30) and second in the 500 freestyle (5:27.56). Doppel finished first in the 50 freestyle (23.16) and first in the 100 freestyle (49.36). Slater placed first in diving.
Fitch was second in the 100 butterfly (1:02.39) and third in the 200 IM (2:22.54). Wickham took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.91) and third in the 50 freestyle (25.96). Shawn Rutledge placed third in the 200 freestyle (2:16.22), while Will Fitzsimmons placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:08.88).
