Watkins swimmers place second, Odessa sixth

WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen girls varsity swim team finished second and Odessa-Montour sixth at the Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) championship, Saturday, Oct. 31.
For Watkins, Lexi Castellaneta won the diving title and secured the IAC meet record for 11 dives.
Liza Carnes finished second in the 200 free and 500 free, while Katherine Meehan placed second in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200 IM.
Amanda Wilbur finished third in the 200 IM. Isabella Fazzary took fifth in the 500 free and seventh in the 200 free. Peighton Cervoni was fourth in the 100 back and sixth in the 100 free, while Emma Allington was fourth in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 fly.
Madeleine Ross placed seventh in the 500 free and 10th in the 200 free. Jillian Kilcoyne was sixth in the 100 fly and 10th in the 200 IM. Sara Gardner took sixth in the 50 free. Wilbur finished seventh in the 100 fly.
For Odessa, Tori Reese was fifth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 breast. Emelia Paulisczak finished eighth in the 200 free and sixth in the 500 free, with season best times. Syria Tague was seventh in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 free, with season best times.
Amy Fudala placed ninth in the 100 breast.
The 200 medley relay team (Tague, Amy Fudala, Reese, and McKenna Carberry) placed fifth in a season best time. The 200 free relay team (Fudala, Paulisczak, Reese, and Tague) took fourth in a season best time, while the 400 free relay team (Carberry, Carrigan, Kara Reese and Paulisczak) took sixth.
