Watkins swimmers take third, Odessa fifth

WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen girls varsity swimming team took third in the Interscholastic Athletic Conference Championship, while Odessa-Montour was fifth, Saturday, Nov. 2.
Watkins won the diving portion of the meet, with Alexis Castellaneta taking first (359.20), Lindsey Suddaby second (319.40), and Hannah Pulis fourth (203.75). The 200 yard medley relay team (Victoria Wixson, Katherine Meehan, Sam Gill, and Emma Allington) took second with 1:58.84. The 200 yard freestyle relay team (Wixson, Meehan, Gill, and Allington) was third with 1:48.91. The 400 yard freestyle relay team (Alexis Naylor-Kleman, Halle Phillips, Bridgette Guild, and Doppel) was fifth in 4:29.26.
Gill finished third in the 100 yard butterfly (1:04.12). In the 100 yard backstroke, Wixson finished second (1:02.1) and Doppel was sixth (1:10.85). In the 100 yard breaststroke, Wixson also took second (1:15.04), while Meehan was fourth (1:19.18).
Allington took third in the 50 yard freestyle (26.59), followed by Meehan in 10th (29.47). Allington was also third in the 100 yard freestyle (58.64). Gill was fourth in the 200 yard IM (2:28.75), while Emily Doppel finished seventh (2:39.51). Naylor-Kleman was ninth in the 500 yard freestyle (6:28.85). In the 200 yard freestyle, Phillips was ninth (2:21.02) and Naylor-Kleman was 10th (2:23.44).
For Odessa, the 200 yard medley relay team (Gabby Cain, Jenelle Bleiler, Courtney Neumire, and Emma Raymond) were fifth with (2:27.31). The 200 yard freestyle relay team (Bleiler, Jordan Little, Maia Rumsey, and Taylor Rounds) was fourth with 1:50.36. The 400 yard freestyle relay team (Emelia Pauliszack, Little, Rounds,and Rumsey) finished third with 4:05.11.
In the 100 yard breaststroke, Bleiler was third (1:18.79). Rumsey finished second in the 100 yard freestyle (58.05) and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke (1:09.24). Rounds took sixth in the 50 yard freestyle (27.21) and sixth in the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.12).
Little was fifth in the 100 yard butterfly (1:10.09), while Bleiler was 11th (1:15.10). Little was fourth in the 500 yard freestyle (6:01.88), followed by Pauliszack in eighth (6:28.52). Pauliszack took eighth in the 200 yard freestyle (2:20.9).
