WATKINS GLEN—The Watkins Glen boys varsity basketball team won in overtime, 57-50, in a home game against Waverly, Friday, Jan. 28.
At the end of the fourth quarter, both teams were tied, 44-44. Waverly managed to score a needed two point shot with .08 seconds left on the clock. In overtime, Watkins secured the lead with 11 free throw shots. Travis Waite scored seven points from the free throw line during overtime and Brady Myers had four points. Waite was also the top scorer with 22 points and making a total of 14 out of 16 free throw shots throughout the game. Alec Moore was next with 10 points. Myers had a total of nine points. Andrew Malaney contributed seven points. Josh Teeter had five points, while Chris Duane scored three and Andrew Conklin had one.
