Wayne town board 02/10/09

Meeting:  The Wayne town board met Tuesday, Feb. 10, for one hour and 10 minutes.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were two members of the public in the audience.
Action:  The board scheduled a public hearing about the comprehensive plan for  half an hour before the next regular board meeting.
• The board approved ordering 12 copies of “The Short Course: Basic Guide for Planning and Zoning Boards in NYS.”  
Discussion without action:  John McIntire, highway superintendent, reported that the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) money they will get from the state has gone down 43 percent compared to last year.
• The board will be putting together summaries for what each board’s responsibilities are.  Supervisor Dawn Dowdle said that if needed, they may solicit people who could fill the positions on the boards that are still empty.
Appointments/resignations:  The board approved the appointment of Dennis Carlson to serve on the board of assessment review for five more years.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular board meeting will be March 10 at 7:30 p.m. It will be preceded by a public hearing for the comprehensive plan at 7 p.m.
