WANETA LAKE--A donation of time and money can make a big difference.
The Welliver company, based in Montour Falls, decided the Boy Scout's Camp Gorton on Waneta Lake would again be the recipient of the company's outreach program Saturday, June 16.
So, 42 Welliver employees convened at the lake camp early Saturday morning along with trucks, equipment and material to replace the roof on the Scout's Nature Lodge building. The volunteers also did some roof repairs for the Ambassador's Lodge. By 10:15 a.m. their work was done.
The camp was able to improve some of their key building assets without a cost to the scouts' organization.
Scott Welliver, the company's owner and a life-long scout himself said, "Scouting is important in the life of young people. The experiences gained are life-long lessons and the values and integrity instilled are invaluable."
