What is happening with the Keuka Maid?

HAMMONDSPORT—After two years of being docked without use, the Keuka Maid’s final lease agreement with the town of Urbana is up at the end of May.
To the possibility of the town renewing the agreement again, Urbana Supervisor Gordon Lanphere, said “not as far as we’re concerned.” The Keuka Maid is owned by Robert Pfuntner who also owns Pembrook Pines Media Group, and has been stuck in port until it is inspected or has somewhere else to go. Nancy Nicastro, with the Pembrook Pines Media Group, said the Keuka Maid has not been used the last two years. The phone number associated with the boat is also out of service.
At the Feb. 24 Urbana board meeting, the town extended the agreement for three more months to allow the Keuka Maid to stay docked. However, Pfuntner had to pay $1,250 per month. At the meeting, Pfuntner had reported he was contacting a ship yard in Virginia about inspecting the boat in April.
“That never came about,” said Lanphere, adding that since then the town has heard no update on the Keuka Maid.
Pfuntner did not return repeated phone calls to the The Observer.  Nicastro said Pfuntner had no comment on the Keuka Maid.
