Windmill opening celebrates 30 years

PENN YAN--The Windmill Farm and Craft Market will open this Saturday, April 29 and also celebrate their 30th anniversary of retail service in the community.
"One of the reasons the Windmill has been successful over 30 years in the area is because of the passion the vendors have for being here. It is very real. We have folks that have been here doing this for years and years, every Saturday from April to December, giving up their weekends and holidays, for years and years. We also have a very loyal base of shoppers who just enjoy coming out to the Windmill," explained General Manager Steve Wilson.
Wilson noted this year the farm and craft market will add two new local beer crafters to their retail mix. Abandon Brewery and Finger Lakes Beer Company will offer samples and also sell packaged containers for Windmill customers.
Wilson added another new feature this year is the Garden Shed building. The new building was installed in the off-season and will offer more space for products and customers.
Wilson added, "From crafters to craft beers, fresh produce, restaurants, Amish and Mennonite baked goods, handmade items, custom furniture and cabinetry along with local wineries, we think you'll find many things you are looking for and many things you weren't."
The Windmill is open for the season every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
