Worker dies on Walgreens building roof

PENN YAN (7/27/16)--The Penn Yan Police Department has released the name of a man who was found dead on the roof of the Penn Yan Walgreens Thursday, July 21. The man has been identified as Christopher A. Young, 54, of Farmington. The Walgreens is located at 226 Liberty St. in the village.
Police were called to the scene Thursday to investigate an unattended death when Young was found on the roof. Young was granted access to the roof by Walgreens employees Tuesday, July 19. He was contracted to provide service work at the site by cleaning the roof and roof drains. His body was later discovered July 21 at 2:10 p.m.
The autopsy revealed Young's death was the result of natural causes in a heart related incident. The Penn Yan Police Department previously withheld Young's name prior to notifying his family.
