Yates County Fair opens Tuesday, July 7

YATES COUNTY--The 176th Yates County Fair will run for five days starting next week. The fair begins Tuesday, July 7 and concludesSaturday, July 11. The Yates County Fair, located at 2370 Old Route 14A, is one of the oldest continuously operating fairs in the United States. Festivities will include live music, carnival rides and games, food vendors, a demolition derby and truck pulls.
Tuesday, July 7, the fair will be open from 6 to 11 p.m. The eighth annual Figure 8 Race takes place at 7 p.m. at the main grandstands, with Creekside Entertainment running from 8 to 11 p.m. at the entertainment barn.
The fair midway will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, with the garden tractor pull starting at 6 p.m. at the main grandstands. The Spare Parts Band will play a free concert from 8 p.m. to midnight at the entertainment barn.
The midway will again be open from 4 to 11 p.m. Thursday, July 9, with the farm tractor pull starting at 6 p.m. at the main grandstands. The Western Pro Pullers tractor pull, featuring semi truck pulls, will begin at 8 p.m. Virgil Cain will also hold a free concert at 8 p.m. at the entertainment barn.
Annual Kids Day is Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. along concession lane. Outlaw truck pulling begins at 6 p.m. at the main grandstands, featuring 2.6 diesel street legal semi trucks. Friday's free concert features Murphy's Law at 8 p.m. in the entertainment barn.
The fair midway runs from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 11, featuring the demolition derby at the main grandstands at 7 p.m. The Showtime Band will perform a free concert from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the entertainment barn.
