Yates Emergency Management recognizes responders

The Yates County Office of Emergency Management held a banquet to recognize training and leadership in the fire and emergency medical service, Friday, April 6. Members of various departments across Yates County were recognized. Pictured are award winners: (front) Howard Leach, H. Robert Hathaway 2017 Officer of the Year Award; Sheldon Martin, John P. Woods 2017 Fire Training Hours Award (277 hours); Jesse Lambert, Yates County 2017 Combined Fire and EMS Training Hours Award (369 hours); (back) Gary Christensen, Roger A. Ribble Memorial Award; U.S. Rep. Tom Reed, who helped present the awards; Joseph Axtell, 2017 EMS Provider of the Year; Wesley Youngman, 2017 EMS Training Hours Award (1000 hours) and James Adams, Emergency Medical Services Gary Garverick Leadership Award.
