Yates judge primary set for Tuesday, Sept. 13

YATES COUNTY (9/7/2016)--The annual primary elections coming up Tuesday, Sept. 13, feature a contested three-way race for Yates County judge this year. The candidates include Matthew Conlon, Jason Cook and Valerie Gardner. Six different parties will hold primary elections for this seat, including the Republican, Democratic, Conservative, Working Families, Women's Equality and Reform Parties. Current Yates County Judge Patrick Falvey is not running for reelection. The term is for 10 years.
The Republican ticket will feature all three candidates, while the Democratic ballot includes just Gardner and Conlon. Conlon and Cook will be competing in the Conservative Party primary, while Conlon and Gardner will square off in the Working Families primary. Cook and Gardner are listed on the ballots for both the Women's Equality and Reform primaries.
Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on election day. Polling locations include the Barrington town hall, Benton town hall, Italy town hall, Keuka Park firehouse, Branchport firehouse, Middlesex firehouse, Penn Yan Academy gymnasium, Himrod firehouse, Potter firehouse, Dundee village hall and Dresden firehouse.
