Barrington town board 02/11/09

Meeting:  The Barrington town board met Wednesday, Feb. 11 for one hour and five minutes, plus an executive session lasting 20 minutes.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were nine members of the public in the audience.
Action:  Supervisor Eileen Farnan suggested moving funds into more banks as an economic precaution.  The board approved moving town funds into both the Chemung Canal Trust Company and the Canandaigua National Bank.
• The board approved giving letters of endorsement for the Keuka Housing Council and the Dundee Area Improvement Fund.
• The Land Use Leadership Alliance (LULA) presentation for the town was set for Saturday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.
Discussion without action:  The board heard a presentation from Michael J. Griffin, assistant regional design engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation.  He talked about a future bridge replacement project on Route 54 at Camp Arey.
• The board went into executive session to interview Connie McNamara for a spot on the ethics nominating committee.
Appointments/resignations:  The board approved the planning board’s recommendations for appointments.  Dominick Sebasto will be first alternate and Tara Farnan will be vice chair, for one year.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular meeting is Wednesday Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
