Village approves 50K to review eagle optionsWATKINS GLEN--The village of Watkins Glen signed"That is an agreement we are going to do with SCOPED to allow... $50,000 to help facilitate the wastewater treatment plant moving ahead with some regulations, some proposals, some programs we have to pull together dealing with the eagle situation," Watkins Glen Mayor Mark Swinnerton said. "We will be dealing with that this coming month of September. Barton and Loguidice and Harris Beach will be helping us deal with that. The $50,000 will be split between the two individuals, Barton and Loguidice and Harris Beach." Swinnerton said the agreements are to look into what can be legally done to address the eagle issue, adding there is no set solution as of yet. He said the agreements are to merely explore what options are available, adding to find that out, the village needs to spend $50,000 to look into it. The mayor said SCOPED will be acting as the facilitator of the $50,000. Swinnerton said this agreement was also approved by Montour Falls last month. |
