Dollar Foods will close soon

MONTOUR FALLS—The Montour Falls Dollar Foods store on Route 14 will be closed within one to two weeks’ time.
Inside, not all of the shelves have items on them.  Some of the aisles have been picked through leaving just a few of each item in the “buy two get one free” closing sale to empty the store.  In addition to the remaining food items, the low priced store is also trying to sell out its cleaning supplies, party supplies, toys, books and dinnerware.
According to Jason Slottje, who works for the firm that owns Dollar Foods, the store is closing because this site has been unprofitable. By the end of December the store will be closed and the space available for rent.
The Dollar Foods chain is owned by Dollar’s Worth LLC, operating out of Owego, N.Y. The store’s theme is to have everything priced under a dollar.
