How do you steal an excavator?

HECTOR--The Schuyler County Sheriff's office is investigating the theft of a1995 Caterpillar excavator.
Officials believe the heavy-equipment machinery was taken from a job site on County Route 1 near Lewis Road in the town of Hector sometime between Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15.
The excavator is a model 320L and appears to have been loaded onto a lowboy trailer.
The county paid $90,000 for the excavator, according to Schuyler County Lt. Craig Gallow.
