WATKINS GLEN-The Class of 2017 officially graduated from Watkins Glen high school, Saturday, June 24 in the auditorium. The ceremony included speeches from class Valedictorian Cambria Weeden, Salutatorian Jacob Carocci and the Senior Oration by Alexander Gibson.

"It is possible the person you want to become today is not the person you will be 10 years from now," remarked Weeden. "Things may change, but you should never compromise on something you find valuable due to expectations of others."
She also talked about each person's individual uniqueness and how important that is moving forward.
Salutatorian Jacob Carocci said, "Do what makes you happy. Don't let yourself be miserable in any aspect of your life. Only you know what makes you happy, so don't rely on other people to make major decisions in your life...there is no such thing as being too kind."
In the Senior Oration, Alexander Gibson talked about the tight-knit community of students that made up the class. "The memories we have made are little gifts to each and everyone of us...our class is a family."
In addition to the students, school administrators including retiring Superintendent Tom Phillips addressed the class and audience.
A number of monetary awards were also presented.
