Glorious Garlic Festival starts with Thursday night concert
SENECA LAKE--The 26th annual Glorious Garlic Festival Weekend will be held this weekend at Fox Run Vineyards. The festival features everything garlic as well as many demonstrations and music for attendees. A pre-event is held Thursday, Aug. 2 with a concert by The Town Pants at the winery. Music will begin at 6 p.m. and food and drinks will be available starting at 5 p.m. The main festival is held Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vendors will be stationed throughout the festival grounds and a main entertainment tent is set up to provide music. There are also garlic lectures and cooking demos both days. Saturday will have cooking demos at 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. by Karen Gilman of Dano's Heuriger and Matt Wooster of NYKitchen, respectively. A 1 p.m. lecture by Tom Singer will focus on Growing and Using Garlic. The Black Night plays on the stage from 12 to 2 p.m. and Meg Gehman and the Influence goes from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday will have three cooking demos. The 11:30 a.m. demonstration will be presented by Max Bonacci and Joe Kennedy of Linden Social Club, at 2:15 p.m. Chef Brud Holland from Fox Run Vineyards presents and at 3:30 p.m. Rafael Diaz Diaz of El Morro will share his experience with the crowd. The Growing and Using Garlic lecture will be at 1 p.m. Rebecca Colleen and The Chore Lads will be on the music stage from 12 to 2 p.m. and Blue Eyed Soul is from 3 to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free for the event.
