Officials open Dundee apartments
DUNDEE--Work has been underway in Dundee renovating and renewing three locations in the village for use as apartments. A grand opening celebration was held Monday, Oct. 1 showing the transformation at the properties. The event was hosted by the Keuka Housing Council. A ribbon cutting took place at 7 Hollister St., a house that was completely rehabilitated during the project. The other area to receive work was the second floor from 12-20 Main St. The project was funded by the New York State Homeless Housing and Assistance Program. The total grant award was for $1,919,513 and it paid for the construction and mortgages that secure the buildings. The locations will serve as permanent supportive housing for the homeless. The housing council was also awarded a grant from The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance called the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative which will provide services and operating expenses for the project.
