Weekend includes holiday celebrations

TRI-COUNTY AREA--As the Christmas holiday quickly approaches, there are a number of events this weekend to embrace winter and the festive season.
Dundee's Touch of Christmas and the Magic of the Season Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 14. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at the school and will continue to Seneca Street Park where the rest of the evening will take place. Santa is expected to meet with children at 6:05 p.m. after his firetruck ride. The event will include music, food, picture and game opportunities along with family fun.
Also Saturday, Hammondsport will have the village square decorated for the holidays with Santa making several appearances. The fun begins on Saturday morning, 8 to 11 a.m. with a breakfast with Santa at the fire department. At 4 p.m., the celebration moves to the village with many special events. Vendors will be set up until 8 p.m., with wagon rides beginning at 5 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected at 6:30 p.m.
In Schuyler County, the Watkins Glen Village Christmas will run from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13. There are two firework displays this year during the evening, one at 5:30 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m. The annual parade is at 6:30 p.m., with the theme 12 Days of Christmas. There are also numerous food, music, vendors, reindeer and fun activities. Santa will be at Famous Brands after the parade.
All of the holiday events are free to attend.
