SPORTS RECAP: Week of 11-18-20

Penn Yan Girls Tennis
The Penn Yan girls varsity tennis team won their third consecutive Section V class title by defeating Palmyra-Macedon, Saturday, Nov. 14. Penn Yan won all of their matches for a final 5-0 score.
In singles, Molly Pullen defeated Heather Weaver 10-0. Claire Pullen won over Austin Hager 10-0 and Abigail Garvey received a forfeit.
In doubles, Jayden Hollister and Sydney Moravec beat Kaleen Anderson and Libbi Colling 10-1, while Sam Denson and Grace Swarthout defeated Ella Wieber and Ginger Galens 10-1.
The Lady Mustangs are now 13-0 on the season. Individual sectionals begin this week.

Penn Yan Boys Soccer
The Penn Yan boys soccer team defeated Wellsville, 4-1, in a sectional matchup at Penn Yan, Saturday, Nov. 14. Zack Townley scored three goals for the Mustangs. Mason MacKerchar also recorded a goal, while Caiden DeMarco and Nicholas Jarecke each had assists. Thomas Barden made four saves for Penn Yan.
The boys now advance to play Bishop Kearney, Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Penn Yan. The game concluded after press time for this edition.

Penn Yan Girls Soccer
The Penn Yan Lady Mustangs hosted Mynderse for their opening sectional game, Friday, Nov. 13. Mynderse won 3-1 and advanced in the Class B2 sectional bracket. Scoring stats were not provided for Penn Yan who finished the season 9-3.

Penn Yan Cross Country
The Penn Yan cross country team competed at the division championships, Saturday, Nov. 14.
For the boys, James Tette was second in 17:06. Anthony Wheeler took 22nd with a 19:45, while Zachary Smith was 30th in 20:11.
For the girls, Joddie Decker was second in 20:45. Jaina Doyle took 12th with a 21:59. Gracie Murphy was 23rd with a 24:01 and Adriana Rodriguez was 32nd in 25:42. Lexi Smith took 33rd in 28:03.

Dundee Girls Soccer
The Dundee/Bradford girls varsity soccer team ended their season in a sectional game against Red Creek, Tuesday, Nov. 10. The final score was 9-0.

Dundee Boys Soccer
The Dundee/Bradford boys soccer team lost in the second round of the Class C2 sectionals, Saturday, Nov. 14. Dundee fell to Naples 3-1.

Dundee Cross Country
Dundee's runners competed at the Wayne-Finger Lakes division championships, Saturday, Nov. 14. Camden Buchanan finished 27th with a 21:42. Alexander Leonard was 31st in 22:48, while Devon Grandall was 36th in 25:04.
Alissa Eaves was 19th in the girls race in 23:52.

Hammondsport Cross Country
The Hammondsport cross country team will compete in the sectional championship Saturday, Nov. 21 at Oakfield-Alabama Central School. Section V has restricted this event to participants only, no spectators will be allowed.
