School roof is next Dundee project

    DUNDEE—The Dundee Central School District board of education met on Thursday, Oct. 13.  Progress continues on capital projects.  The school board heard that King & King Architects have reviewed the roof replacement project. It will be sent to the state education department by the end of October with work expected to start by the end of April 2012.
    In other business: Athletic Director Jennifer Hutches told the board Freedom Village no longer owns the Dundee bowling alley. Hutches said arrangements have been made to rent the Penn Yan lanes. The rate will be $3,000; the same rate charged in Dundee.
    • The district received a letter from the Penn Yan Junior Mustangs. The letter commended the Dundee football team and coach Sheldon Gibson for their support of the younger players.
    • District Business Manager Melissa Lawson reviewed impacts of the new tax cap.
    • All winter coaching assignments were approved.
    • Change orders connected with exterior work for the current capital project were approved.
    The next meeting of the Dundee Central School District board of education will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. The meeting will be in the public meeting room.
