Coleman gets jail sentence
PENN YAN--Julie Coleman, the former interim director of the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, is getting jail time, probation and must pay restitution from her guilty plea committing a felony criminal act. Yates County District Attorney Todd Casella said Coleman pled guilty of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony and was sentenced Tuesday, March 19 by Yates County Judge Jason Cook to 80 days in county jail, five years probation and she must pay restitution of $2377.62. The chamber of commerce hired Coleman in May 2017 following the death of longtime chamber director Mike Linehan. Coleman was arrested locally after an area and out-of-state investigation.
