DUNDEE--The Yates County Sheriff’s Office announced last week that Deputy Nick Fultz has completed the DARE instructor training course and will be assigned as the School Resource Officer at Dundee starting in the fall.
The 80-hour DARE training course was held at the Montour Falls Fire Academy. DARE or Drug Abuse Resistance Education, was founded in 1983 and has been used in thousands of schools around the United States and abroad to have police officer-led classroom lessons to help students resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.
Deputy Fultz will be able to teach the DARE curriculum to the students of Dundee Central School, focusing on teaching students strategies to avoid using drugs and alcohol, as well as how to make safe and responsible decisions.
