Barrington town board 01/05/10

Meeting:  The Barrington town board met Tuesday, Jan. 5, to hold the organizational meeting, the first meeting of the year.
Attendance:  Bruce Castner was the only board member absent.  There were no members of the public present.
Action:  The board approved Calvin Crosby to fill Fred Wright’s term as board member, since Wright is now supervisor.  The term ends Dec. 31 of this year.
•  Board member Nate Olney was also appointed deputy supervisor.  Board member Ken Christensen was appointed an alternate delegate for Keuka Watershed Improvement Cooperative (KWIC).
• The board also approved other yearly designations, like the town’s official banks and designated newspapers.
• The Barrington Community Church is the town’s second meeting place again.  The board appointed the Dundee Historical Society as town historian.
• Wages and salaries were set for employees and town officials.  However, Clerk Joy Perry said councilman wages were not set at the meeting.
Discussion without action:  Perry said the board discussed meeting once a month as opposed to twice a month, but no decision was made. 
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular board meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.
