Meeting:  The Barrington town board met Wednesday, Sept. 28, for 45 minutes.
Attendance:  All board members were present.  There were five members of the public in the audience.
Action:  The board approved EnerPath, Inc. to install new, energy efficient lighting in the town hall and barn.  Clerk Joy Perry explained New York State Electric and Gas covers $3,651.46, while the town pays $1,941.24.
    • Yearly contributions to the Dundee Library and the Dundee Area Historical Society were granted.  The board approved giving $400 to the historical society.  Perry said the library requested $3,060, or a two percent increase.  However, the town board approved giving the library the same amount as last year, $3,000.
    • Public hearings for the Dundee and Penn Yan fire contracts were scheduled for the October town board meeting.
Discussion without action:  The board did not sign the contract for services with the Penn Yan Fire Department.  Perry said Supervisor Fred Wright had an issue with sending payment in two checks: one to the Penn Yan village and the other to the fire department.
    • Planning Board Chairperson Sue Lange presented the board with the first draft of a law to prohibit storing petroleum or wastewater in the town.  She asked the board at the last meeting if that was something they wanted and she was told to proceed.
    • Highway Superintendent Steve Wheeler reported the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds have not arrived yet, but the paperwork and inspections have all been done.  Perry explained the funds cover any damage from the flooding this summer.
Upcoming meetings:  The next regular Barrington town board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.
