Boorom appears in Dundee court

DUNDEE—Thomas Boorom, 56, of Dundee, appeared before the Dundee village court again, Wednesday, July 22.
Boorom was arrested and arraigned June 12 for allegedly stealing over $17,000 from the Dundee American Legion.  According to a press release from the New York State Police, an investigation revealed that Boorom allegedly failed to report the sale of 31 pull-tab games sold at the legion, where he formerly served as commander.  The New York State Police Department said the charges are grand larceny in the third degree and falsifying business records in the first degree.
The Wednesday court proceeding lasted only a few minutes.  Jason Cook, first assistant district attorney for Yates County, said Boorom needed to appear with his attorney, Keith Lord.  Boorom is now scheduled to reappear in Dundee village court, Wednesday, Aug. 26.
