Budgets pass, school boards set after vote

FINGER LAKES--Voters from Dundee, Penn Yan, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, and Odessa-Montour went to the polls, Tuesday, May 17 to vote on propositions at their respective schools as well as candidates for the school board.
In Dundee, all the propositions passed including the budget, school fitness equipment, vehicle purchase and library funding. Elected to the school board were: Brad Cole with 161 votes, John Frederick had 159 and Doug Hammond 108 write-in votes.
Penn Yan also passed both propositions including the budget and transportation vehicles. Kenneth Walker was elected to fill the open seat on the board with 674 votes.
Hammondsport's budget and transportation expenditures easily passed and William Goodrich was elected to the school board with 157 votes.
In Watkins Glen, the budget passed as did the bus leasing proposition and Craig Bianco, Keith Caslin, and Theresa Butler were elected to the school board. There were two three-year terms and one for one year. Butler will serve the one-year term with 234 votes.
For Odessa-Montour, all four propositions passed including the budget, bus purchase, fund transfer and library funding. William Shrout and Karen Rock were both elected to the board with three-year terms.
