Cheese Festival brings families to the farm

ODESSA (7/20/16)--The fifth anniversary of the Finger Lakes Cheese Festival will take place Saturday, July 23, at the Sunset View Creamery in Odessa. The event is a family day of food, music, animals, games and classes. Visitors will have the chance to taste the cheeses of the farms of the Finger Lakes Cheese Alliance in one place. This includes 11 of the 12 alliance members, along with local foods and beverages provided by additional vendors.
The festival will begin at 10 a.m. at Sunset View Creamery, located at 4970 County Road 14 in Odessa. The festival will conclude at 5 p.m. Live music by several bands and DJs will be provided throughout the day, with seminars and classes running from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A beer and cheese pairing will be held from noon to 1 p.m., while wine, cider and cheese pairings will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Self-guided farm tours will also be offered throughout the day. Admission is $5 per adult in advance ($6.27 with service charge) or $8 at the gate. Kids under 12 are free. The seating for seminars this year has been expanded to seat 120 people, costing $2 a person, per seminar.
