Classic cars will roll into Dundee June 27

DUNDEE—Dundee is the next destination for car buffs this Wednesday, June 27. Martini’s ShurFine will host the 12th annual Dundee Show ‘n Go.
Categories for the event include sports cars, classic cars, muscle cars, Cruise In, tuned cars and sport compact. Awards will be given out in 12 classes.
The evening also features entertainment and food in the parking lot of Martini’s ShurFine from local not-for-profit groups. Sheldon Gibson will be announcing and providing music. Area business will stay open later. On-site registration starts at 5 p.m.
Dundee’s car show was originally organized by residents Terrie Sautter and Alan Giles, former owner of ShurFine, because Watkins Glen and Penn Yan both had car events. The two felt Dundee should host one as well. Cars, motorcycles, hot rods, even tractors will all be accepted. Around 100 vehicles are expected. Sautter explained unlike the Penn Yan show, Dundee’s event draws in more people from the Southern Tier.
You can pre-register vehicles for the event by emailing dundeecarshow@yahoo.com or by calling 607-243-7845 in the evenings. People are asked to include their name, city, car year, make and model. The first 50 pre-registrants will receive a t-shirt and the first 125 participants will get a dashboard plaque. It is free to attend, but organizers do accept donations to cover costs. Early arrivals must park on the street until display parking starts.
“If you love it, bring it,” said Sautter.
