Company submits offer for Dundee Foods

DUNDEE—Mabrouka Properties II LLC has executed a purchase offer for the Dundee Foods facility.
Steve Griffin, executive director of the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center, explained his agency is working with both Mabrouka, and Dundee Foods’ parent company, LiDestri Foods, LLC, based in Fairport. He explained the deal is still being finalized. Paperwork has been sent to Albany for state approval.
As for the purchasing company itself, Griffin said he can’t reveal too many details about them. He said Mabrouka Properties II LLC is the name of the company handling the transaction. He added the operating company, based in Morocco, specializes in food distribution, but Mabrouka Properties II LLC is the name of a real estate arm for the company.
Griffin explained the production company is looking to create 40 jobs in three years. He added that about three-fourths would be in production and the rest in management. Griffin said the business will be dealing with Mediterranean foods at the Dundee facility like olives, olive oil, capers, and sardines.
He explained the company would receive bulk food and break it down for distribution in the U.S. Griffin said this would be the company’s only distribution center in New York with plans for expansion. He added that production would include work like stuffing olives. If the sale is finalized, Griffin added that the company plans to invest $3 million in new equipment.
