County fair runs through Saturday

PENN YAN--The 179th annual Yates County Fair, promoted as the "The Friendliest Fair in Central New York!", is now at the county fairgrounds on old Route 14A and continues through Saturday, July 14.
Each day the fair features the petting zoo, playland amusements and midway rides, Rosarie's Royal Racers along with favorite county fair food and drinks. In addition, the nightly musical entertainment is also a favorite for many. This year the evening bands include: Wednesday, July 11, The Town Pants concert, 8 to 11 p.m.; Thursday, July 12, Virgil Cain concert, 8 to 11 p.m.; Friday, July 13, Ruby Shooz Band/Class Reunion Night 8 p.m. to midnight and Saturday, July 14: Dirt Child Band, 8 to 12 p.m.
Also on Friday night, Outlaw truck pulling starts at 6 p.m. and the Demolition Derby is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m.
Admission is one price at $12 which includes parking, musical entertainment, all grandstand shows, daily shows, the Rosaire's Royal Racers, the Petting Zoo and the midway rides.
