Dundee district schedule is ready for the school year

    DUNDEE—Dundee Central School District board of education met on Thursday, Aug. 11.
    Faculty member Jennifer Hutches presented an athletic update. Hutches said the web page is up and running. Team rosters are included. Hutches said photos will be up after the first competition. Hutches outlined other information that will be included on the website. This includes items such as field use and tentative winter and spring sports schedules.
    Referring to the ongoing construction and the expected results, Hutches said, “It will be an interesting adventure for all of us.”
    In other business: Superintendent of Schools Kathy Ring told the board the shared services study is now in motion. Buildings and Grounds, transportation, cafeteria, business office and administration are the topics to be discussed. The Dundee, Penn Yan and Marcus Whitman school districts are participating in the study. They are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Aug. 30. The study is designed to identify areas in which the three districts could share services. The study is funded by a grant.
    • Voted to send a letter to New York State Department of Transportation requesting a traffic light at the intersection of Water and Millard Streets.
    • Approved revisions to four district policies.
    • Accepted donation of clothes, school supplies and school items from the Penn Yan Dollar General store.
    • Approved appointment of Adam Luke to teach physical education, commencing Sept. 1.
    The next meeting of the Dundee Central School district board of education will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8. The meeting will be in the public meeting room.
