Dundee fund needs help to make goal

DUNDEE--The Dundee Area United Fund is $4,000 short of making this year's goal of $27,900.
Alan Giles, board chair for the fund, said the shortage is through Nov. 30 and he hopes the Dundee community will respond during the holiday season to reach the goal.
The fund committee and board are completely volunteer. There is no paid staff. The only expenses, which typically amounts to about 2 percent of their budget, are for paper, printing, postage and accounting fees for the government required 501-C3 filings.
Giles said, "Otherwise, all of the money stays in the community for 13 local agencies, such as the Dundee Children's Center, the library, the historical society, Our Town Rocks, the Yates Christmas Program and the Dundee Food Pantry.
Giles said, "If you have not yet given, please help. If you have already donated, we thank you for your support and ask you to consider a small additional gift."
Contributions can be given to Board Secretary Joan Washburn at Five Star Bank, or mailed to: The Dundee Area United Fund, P.O. Box 15, Dundee, NY 14837.
