DUNDEE--The 62nd annual Dundee Area United Fund drive is underway.
Letters were mailed in mid-September to organizations, groups and individuals that have previously donated to the Dundee fundraising campaign.
Each year money is raised to help Dundee area groups. This year the fund is seeking a total of $27,700.
Carrie Wood, campaign co-chair with Lois Larmouth, said by giving to the United Fund you have the opportunity to aid 13 different local agencies with just one check.
The groups and dollar amounts planned to benefit from this year's fundraising will include Yates Christmas Program, $4,750; Dundee Library, $3,600; Meals on Wheels, $3,200; Dundee Area Historical Society, $3,100; Yates Red Cross, $2,850; Dundee Food Pantry and Dundee Children's Center each receive $2,600; Our Town Rocks, $1,100; Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes, $1,100; RSVP, $1,000; Literacy Volunteers, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts each receive $600.
Wood said 96.5 percent of all donations go to the local organizations. She said, "All of the campaign expenses for printing, paper and envelopes are donated for the campaign. Our only expense is for the bulk mailing postage."
To make a donation, send a check to Dundee United Fund, P.O. Box 15, Dundee, NY 14837-0015.
