MONTOUR FALLS—The 57th Annual Montour Falls Fire Department Festival and Parade starts this week, Thursday, June 6, and runs through Saturday, June 8.
The yearly event takes place at the fireman’s fair grounds, off Route 224. The festival starts Thursday, from 6 to 10 p.m. The EXPO Showdown talent show is scheduled for 6 p.m. Pay one price rides will also be available during the evening. The grounds also open at 6 p.m. on Friday. Nik & the Nice Guys will perform at 8 p.m. Bingo is scheduled at 6 p.m. all three nights and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Saturday’s main highlight is the 57th annual parade, which starts at 5 p.m. It will feature seven area high school marching bands and a contest for best float. This year’s theme is “Your Favorite TV Show.” People have been told to build a float based off of a television program. Judges will award prizes for first, second, and third place.
Meanwhile, the grounds will open Saturday at noon. There will be a chicken barbecue until the food is gone and one price rides until 4 p.m. At 7 p.m., Tom Bloodgood and the Usual Suspects perform at 7 p.m. There will also be a raffle drawing at 10 p.m.
