ODESSA-MONTOUR--Odessa-Montour Superintendent James Frame has been recommended to become the newest district superintendent for the Greater Southern Tier Board of Cooperative Educational Services (GST BOCES).
Supervisor of Community Information Erin Edger with GST BOCES said if all goes according to plan, Frame's selection will be complete with state approval by Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Pending approval from the state, Frame will be taking the job over from Host Graefe, who retired earlier this summer. Frame has been the superintendent of Odessa-Montour Central School District since the 2004-5 school year.
Frame did not wish to comment on his possible appointment.
Odessa-Montour's Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Kate Taylor said the school's staff and faculty heard the announcement Friday, Sept. 26. Taylor said the district has not had enough time yet to look into who will be taking over as interim-superintendent should Frame's appointment go through. She added the board of education has yet to meet and discuss what needs to be done as far as setting up a selection process for interviewing new potential candidates and laying out a time frame for selecting a permanent replacement as superintendent. Taylor said the next board of education meeting is Thursday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m., but she is unsure whether it is the board's intention to discuss the possible appointment in open session.
