Funtober Fest returns to Dundee park

DUNDEE--The village of Dundee is hosting the fourth annual Funtober Fest, a fall community festival that is free and open to the public. The two-day event is scheduled for Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days at the Spring Street Park. Right now, though, the community is invited to visit the event's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/309635469856562_ and participate in virtual contests.
At the event, attendees will be treated to music presented by Jukebox Junky and performed live by Randy Knapp and also by Roy Litteer and the High Country Band. Knapp and Litteer both perform a variety of genres. Jeff Wood will be offering traditional hayrides throughout the event. In addition, children will enjoy the bounce house, face painting, and a balloon artist. The Yates County Community Center will offer pumpkin painting, the Boy Scouts have organized a Gaga Ball game, and Four Seasons Alpacas will be on hand raising money to support a new playground at the Dundee Central School.
Organizers encourage community members to come hungry. Early risers will find breakfast options, including coffee, hot cocoa, and breakfast sandwiches. On Saturday, a chicken BBQ will be available with pulled pork on Sunday's menu. Those with a sweet tooth should look for the cotton candy, snow cones, and goodies at a bake sale.
"We wanted to create a fun event that is free for people to attend in our community," said Mary Cornish, one of the event's organizers. "It's a good time to relax, see your friends and neighbors, and hopefully enjoy a nice day with good weather."
