DUNDEE--The third annual Dundee Winter Concert is set for Friday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Dundee Baptist Church. The featured performers for the night include Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb. The show is sponsored by Our Town RoCKS along with 36 area businesses, with all proceeds from the ticket sales going to benefit the Dundee Food Pantry.
"They are two of the best guitarists of our time," organizer Robert Sisbarro said. "They have a very unique musical chemistry between them seldom found amongst musicians."
Sisbarro said the show is for people who enjoy all kinds of music, as the pair has a wide repertoire. He noted they are influenced by Americana, jazz, country western and classical music, adding they play about 150 shows a year across multiple continents. Sisbarro said they will be kicking off their 2016 tour at the Dundee show.
Sisbarro said last year's event drew more than 102 people, adding they are promoting the show in Penn Yan, Dundee, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, Geneva and Hector.
"I'm hoping for the best," Sisbarro said. "I'm hoping a couple hundred people come. Obviously we are giving all the proceeds from the ticket sales to the food pantry, so the more people who come, the more money we can give to the food pantry. [...] I am just so excited we have got these world-class musicians coming here that I don't want anyone to miss it."
Tickets to the event are $10 at the door.
