Hammondsport school board 08/19/09Meeting: Hammondsport Central School Board of Education met, Aug. 19 for one hour and 30 minutes, plus a one hour for executive session.Attendance: The full board, plus school officials and an audience of nine were present. Action: Extended superintendent Kyle Bower’s contract to five years; salary frozen for the coming year, with his health care co-pay increased 15 percent. • The board approved a contract with David Latour, special education consultant. It is for $30 per hour for a maximum of 45 days, seven hours daily. Discussion without action: Lisa Stone and Dennis Carlson presented for the board’s consideration the draft of a school strategic plan. • Superintendent Bower reported that the in-ground fuel tank at Curtiss School had failed inspection and had been removed. The building is being converted to gas heat at a cost of approximately $30,000. Asbestos abatement at Curtiss School is being completed. Upcoming meetings: The next regular board meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. |
