Health office will conduct drill April 10

SCHUYLER COUNTY--The Schuyler County Public Health Department is conducting an emergency drill April 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Human Services Complex in Montour Falls. Volunteers from the community are needed to act as patients.
This drill will help the community prepare for public health emergencies by allowing the department and the community to practice how medications would be dispensed in the case of an emergency such as an outbreak of hepatitis A, anthrax, pandemic flu, smallpox, or a bioterrorism event.
"By doing this drill, we can be better prepared in the event something like this occurred," Schuyler County Public Health Director Marcia Kasprzyk stated. "In order for this drill to be successful, we really need the community's help."
Further information and pre-registration for volunteer patients will become available as the date of the drill approaches. Stay tuned to the department's website and social media for updates.
