WATKINS GLEN--The Glen Motor Inn is in the midst of major renovations. When finished, it will reopen for the 2023 season as the Hotel Laurel at Seneca.
The property is now owned by Two Bridges Asset Management, located in Brooklyn, and will be operated by Victoria Falls Enterprises, which is also managing the renovations. Nancy Franzese will serve as the general manager. In the spring, a support team will be put in place.
Renovations will span the property and are already underway. The exterior will be painted. The guest rooms will be gutted. An interior design firm has been retained to create a mid-century modern boutique look and feel throughout the asset. The original 40 rooms will be reconfigured, resulting in 34 double and king-size guest rooms along with three suites that feature kitchenettes. Guests will have access to cable television, free Wi-Fi, and direct access to guest rooms from the parking lot. The lobby will also be gutted and renovated as well.
"The restaurant will receive the same TLC," said Shiv Parbhoo, president of Victoria Falls Enterprises, which is based in St. Augustine, FL. "The Grill at the Hotel Laurel at Seneca boasts an exciting view with a relaxed, casual dining experience featuring fresh ingredients and an occasional dinner special highlighting recipes from its original owners, the Franzese family, throughout the year. The lower level will be a speakeasy and wine cellar."
