Hospital will locate some offices in Montour House

MONTOUR FALLS—Schuyler Hospital has announced they will move some offices into the Montour House when it is completed.
Of three commercial spaces planned into the construction of the building being renovated, two are already taken. Maggie Martin, with Nelson Development, said the second business that will be on the first floor of the Montour House will also be announced soon.
Rick Stelzer, president and CEO of Schuyler Hospital, said the hospital will move their patient accounting, business and Foundation offices into the building. Patient accounting is currently renting space out of the same building as the Office for the Aging across the street from the Montour House. The business and Foundations offices are currently located on Genesee Street.
“They’re taking the majority of the commercial space available,” said Bruce Nelson, project developer and head of Nelson Development.
Martin explained their offices would be in the south wing, where the ballroom is located, and most of the back of the building. The rooms will retain their historic appearance, keeping the moldings, trip and even working fireplaces. Martin added the Schuyler Hospital offices will have a view of the falls and will have a separate entrance facing the post office.
Nelson added that Schuyler Hospital was their “anchor tenant.”
The next open house at the Montour House is Friday, Feb. 13,  6 to 8 p.m. It is open to the public.
