Independence Day events set

FINGER LAKES--Throughout the Finger Lakes municipalities, non-profits and more have a myriad of July 4th events packed with food, fun, music and fireworks this weekend.
The following is a breakdown of events over the holiday weekend:
Yates County
July 1
• The Windmill 35th anniversary street party, 5 to 8 p.m.
• Outlaw Speedway in Dundee hosts the $20,000 fireworks extravaganza. Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.
July 3
• The 2022 Lighted Boat will start at 9 p.m. with boats gathering at the buoys in Branchport at 8:45 p.m. Boats will proceed south along West Lake Road and then will cross the lake opposite the tip of the Bluff proceeding north to Branchport following West Bluff Drive. If participating you are asked to decorate the starboard or right side of your Boat and aim music in that direction as well.
July 4
• The Branchport Keuka Park Fire Department 4th of July events will have a Drive-Thru Chicken BBQ from 12 p.m. until the food is gone so come early. The parade will start at 2 p.m. with live music with Black Robin Bank from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. during which time there will also be food trucks. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.
• The Fly-In/Drive-in Breakfast will take place at the Penn Yan Airport from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will include pancakes, music, a bounce house and airplane rides.
• The Red, White and Blue 5K. Starting off from the Branchport Methodist Church, if you are interested in registering visit http://www.branchportumc.org/Events.html.
• The Festival of Lights on Keuka Lake, sponsored by the Penn Yan Lions Club, is kicking off at 10 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Local retailers are carrying flares for the fundraiser.
Hammondsport
• The Hammondsport Fireman's Carnival will take place on July 1 and July 2.
On July 1, the carnival will open at 6 p.m. with live music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will also be prizes and waterball.
July 2, the fire truck rides will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. with the car show from noon to 4 p.m. Cornhole registration is at 12 p.m. with the games set to start at 12:30 p.m. The carnival will open at 1 p.m. with the annual parade at 6 p.m. Live music will play from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with the fireworks show slated for 10 p.m.
Schuyler County
July 3
• The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a fireworks show at Clute Park starting at 9:45 p.m.
