Jerusalem town board 10/20/10

Meeting: The Jerusalem town board met for approximately two and one quarter hours, Wednesday, Oct. 20.
Attendance: All town board members were present. Approximately 20 members of the public were in the audience.
Action: The board adopted the Road Preservation and Repair Law as developed by Yates County. The board agreed to review a Road Use Agreement that was written by a town committee.
• Passed the 2011 budget. Following the meeting Supervisor Daryl Jones said the town is not looking at an increase in the budget next year. Jones said more fund balance was used in calculating the new budget.
Discussion without action: The town board heard a presentation on wind farms from John Grabski.
• Summer Recreation Director Bev Eggleston reported the summer  program had a good year. She told the board 60 to 70 youngsters attended the program each day.
• Jones said the town was contacted by the Yates County Veteran’s Office about a Veterans Day promotion. Applebees Restaurants are offering free dinners to veterans on Nov. 11. Proof of military service is required to be eligible.
Upcoming meetings: The next regular board meeting is Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the town office on Italy Hill Road.
