Lamoka, Waneta group plans annual meeting

TYRONE—The Tyrone board heard about the Lamoka Waneta Lakes Association’s annual public meeting, during the town’s monthly meeting in April.
The association meeting will be  Saturday, May 28, at 10 a.m. at the Tyrone Fire Hall.  The lakes group is working on a new directory which will be available in 2012. There are several other upcoming events being held by the group this summer.
In other business:
• Assessor Vicki Flynn reported there will be no re-valuations for Tyrone, only for building permits and under-assessments.
• Schuyler County Legislator Dennis Fagan gave an apology to all residents who paid taxes and  received delinquent tax notices.  He said each person will receive an apology letter from the county.  Fagan stated that the process is going to be handled differently in 2012.
• Councilperson Pamela Grimmke asked if Tyrone had received any further information from the attorney regarding ownership of the town’s cemeteries. Supervisor Lisa Bishop is going to follow-up further so the town can locate the deeds for these properties.
