Residents cast their vote 

    TRI-COUNTY AREA—The results are in for the March 20 village elections.
    Penn Yan had four trustee seats on the ballot. Richard Stewart (116 votes), D. Christine Chistensen (109), and Michael J. Christensen (102) were elected for four-year seats, while David L. Reeve (111) won the two-year seat. Danny M. Hibbard was re-elected as village justice (134).
    Dundee's Larry Howell and Judy Duquette were re-elected with 32 votes each. One vote had come in for Craig Prior. Justice Paula Seeley (31) won unopposed.
    In Dresden, there was no one on the ballot for a two-year trustee seat. However, William Hall received 47 write-in votes for the position. Other write-in candidates were: David Parkhurst (10), Timothy Chambers (2), and Lyndon Kennedy (1).

    Hammondsport's two seat board seats went to incumbent Anne Green (38) and newcomer Rachael Nichols (30).
    Schuyler County's only contested election was in Burdett, where incumbents Laurence Jayne (45) and Ruth Givin (39) were re-elected. The third candidate, Diane White, lost with 37 votes.
    In Watkins Glen, Paul Clifford (57) and Anthony Fraboni (55) were also elected.
    Montour Falls' James P. Ryan had 59 votes and Phil J. Smith received 58 votes to retain their two seats.
    Newcomers Thomas Letteer Jr. (65) and Sally Hill (52) were elected to two seats in Odessa. Write-in votes were also received for Denise Hubbs (8), Betsy Austin (2), Howard Searles (2), Lyle Goossen (1), Peggy Tomassi (1), and Ron Parmenter (1).
